I am a fully qualified freelance journalist and also the author of The Single Feather, which was published by Pilrig Press in 2015.
Since then I have concentrated more on the journalism side of things rather than trying to do both, mainly due to a deterioration in my disabilities.
Those problems stem from an accident I had aged 18 in 1989, which left me with life-changing spinal cord injuries. Although there were predictions I wouldn't make it past 30, I am still here, just...
Living with such disabilities changed the direction and focus of my life - towards those cast aside by society and those who do not have a voice.
So, The Single Feather was about loneliness, being the 'other' and the power of communities with my journalistic output concentrating on social justice issues.
